If there was a prize, I would have gotten it...

I attended a wedding today. In Vermont! I traveled the furthest! I head back to California tomorrow.

I talked to my husband on Friday after I arrived and he asked an odd question. He asked "if I missed it." We lived in Massachusetts for 5.5 years, right after we were married. Yesterday was a perfect day in terms of temperature and breeze (which, here, it comes off Lake Champlain and can be downright cold!) and we (friends drove up from MA to hang out with me) drove through green, rolling hills (they call them "mountains" here) with farms and homes architecture styles that are called "cape", "ranch", "raised ranch", "salt box", and "colonial." If it's not old here, its styled to look old! And for a while, I wonder if I DID miss it. I sorta do, but not to the extent that I'd want to move back here/New England. That said, I do like this area. Probably not as much as I like our old "area" in Northampton, MA or down on the Cape, but I know now that it is possible to live in New England!

I went to California for my 10th high school reunion when we lived in MA. I won the prize then for who traveled the furthest...an atlas! Today, my friend Skippy got the prize! He married a wonderful young lady and he couldn't be any happier. For me, that is prize enough.
