The Tooth Fairy has left the building...

My son is 11. He has lost 8 teeth, and has been wiggling one tooth since before I thought it was really loose! He pulled it yesterday.

I suggested that he put the tooth in a Ziploc snack bag so the cat wouldn't find the tooth and make a new toy out of it! Before bed, I asked him if he was going to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. He gave me a smirky look and said, "yeaaaaahhhhhh."

So, 10p rolls around and I went in his room to "make the switch." The "switch" was only two dollar bills, and one of them was his! DH only had one, and all other bills either of us had were $5's and up. I switched on the light, he stirred a bit, and I checked under his pillow. Sure enough, the ziploc was there, so I made the trade and got out before he woke up.

I didn't say anything to him this morning but, after school, I finally asked him and again he got that goofy look and said, "yeah, you know you were in there!" "whaaaaa???" I finally had to admit that I was the Tooth Fairy, but only after he promised that he wouldn't spoil the magic for any younger kids. And then he wanted to know if I'd saved his other teeth and where were they!

Since they were between sweaters and sweatshirts, it lead me to straighten up those items on the shelf in my closet!

Santa is next.

Sigh...

I can beat that.

I had to tell my older dd where babies come from. For real.

Gah. I WISH it had only been the tooth fairy.
