Ask Jeeves...

Today, Boy Genius (10) comes out of the office where I knew he had been on the computer. He plopped himself down on the couch (spring break, and he was still in his pajamas) and said, "Is the Easter Bunny real?" Uhhh...uhhh... I was totally caught off guard! He's asked before about Santa, and the reply was "if you don't believe, you don't receive." Well, he really pressed me for an answer about the Easta Bunny. So, I put it back on him and said, "what do you think?" He said, "I think it's you, and I have evidence." Huh. "Evidence, eh? What might that be?" He says, "I know it's you, cuz I went to askjeeves.com and it said the Easter Bunny isn't real. Don't lie to me mom."

Methinks I don't need to worry about getting out this week to get stuff for his Easter basket!

"Are we going to color Easter Eggs on Saturday?"

"Yes."

I am SO over the Imaginary Gift Bearing Critters....

Marfa, we came dangerously close to this very conclusion this week. I thought I was going to have to spill it to my nearly 10yo. But at the end of the conversation, when asked what she thought, she admitted that she believes.

For now.
