Isn't that always the way...

Took the red car for an oil change today. DH says to have the tires rotated too...he thinks the inside of one is wearing badly cuz he drives it like a race-car. Get to the shop, it's on the rack, and the mechanic says, "wouldn't be worth it to rotate. You need new tires, at least two right away, and two more before winter sets in." Natch, he didn't have 'em but could get them by 3p. Uhhh, no, can't wait. 50k miles, he'd sell me 4, I could come back another day, $315 out the door. Ummmmmm...nahhh, I'll let DH deal with it.

Driving home, I thought to look in the glove box and see what the last receipt said. Huh. Last purchased in 2002. 50k miles ago! I called the tire shop on the receipt, they had what I needed in stock and I could be outta there in an hour. Groovy.

Now thats done.

$30 oil change ended up being a THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR DAY!!!

Tomorrow I take the blue car in. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
