Misunderstood?

Maybe.

A group e-mail was sent out today with the end result. I didn't resolve it, but I sure worked for a long time on it. I replied with needing to put a cold compress on my head after all that banging up against the wall I did. Someone in the group said, and I'll paraphrase here, "great, now Martha has a headache, what will we do next time something needs to be taken care of in the 9th hour."

I took it as a dig. I asked three of my best friends that I am online with daily/multiple times during the day. All three of them took it as him trying to make a funny.

When I first read his reply, I was p.i.s.s.e.d. I was trying to think of something to say that would cut him to the quick, but the only way that could be done would make me look like a jackass. Not long after his post, the original post-er that revealed our "victory" posted that we were up against a near cluster that could have been a near deal-breaker for our group and that I had worked long and hard to bring a resolution. I thanked him for his words privately and told him I almost opened up a can of whoop-ass on the other guy. He said he thought he was "piggy-backing" on the other guy and that he didn't think anything bad was meant.

Since two girlfriends, who would tell me the truth no matter how much I didn't want to hear it, said that they didn't take it the way I did, I decided that it was cocktail hour.

Bottoms up.

Next crisis?
