Temptation
We are still sad for a moment almost everyday since I had Jackson put to sleep. Maggie is settling in nicely, and is super-sweet and loveable, so a perfect snuggly companion for Travis. Now I'm faced with the availability of a cute kitten that was the sole survivor of a house fire. The firefighters named him "Sparky". He's black and white like Jackson, but longer, fluffier hair. Maggie was with him for a little while, as they were/are being fostered by my friend Mary. Sparky has been hand-raised by Mary since he was about two weeks old. He's a playful kitten, where Maggie is quiet, and sorta seems like an old soul. I'm hesitant to think any more about Sparky just from the standpoint of more stuff in the litter-box, keeping him from shredding my furniture to ribbons, and what if Travis really is allergic to cats! He didn't have a problem with Jackson, but Maggie really gets his eyes ithcy, red, and watery. Sparky checks out fine at the vets, although he has a little wheezing in his breath every now and then. The vet says his heart and lungs are clear, but having just been through a lot of money, time and, most of all, worry with Jackson I'm a little gun-shy.
Thinking about Sparky could be a total waste of time 'cuz Greg might veto the idea without much thought. Who knows, Travis might be totally happy and content with Maggie.
Decisions, decisions.

Travis may be more allergic to what Maggie gets into.....
The dust that lurks WAY behind the sofa, for example. Long haired cats tend to hold onto that which they get into longer than short haired cats.
I'm not allergic to CATS. I'm allergic to what cats get into and carry on their fur.
